Karolina Lavergne is an interdisciplinary artist and writer based in Los Angeles. She utilizes commonplace or discarded materials, alongside appropriation and reproduction, to raise questions of authorship and originality. Her practice  explores the margin between the still and moving image as a means to re-construct a disrupted and looping time. The gendered body refracts domestic space as both refuge and trap: desire is inseparable from struggle. Lavergne holds an MFA from ArtCenter College of Design. Her work has been shown internationally and throughout LA, at venues including Weils Museum, Azkuna Zentroa, Gatto Pardo, Night Gallery, and OPaf (Other Places art fair).
